"BACK TO THE FUTURE"

Dr. Forgey saved the best site visit for last arriving at Axis Space was serene in fact the structure of the building has slightly slanted blue tinted  floor to ceiling windows which gives the building a 3-D look. The building is located 20 feet from the docks of Fort Lauderdale River which make you believe you are on vacation. Once you walk into the building you get a futuristic feeling. Your eyes are drawn to the gray columns, phone booths behind red tinted glass, and the sight of artificial grass on the walls, and the stair case with metal like cables, and the ceiling had exposed HVAC ducts, and not to mention the black chalk board paint with what resembled a “Taggers Dream”, and to top it off the second floor had a “Nap Room” can anyone say siesta. The only thing this place was missing was an Oxygen Bar, Hookah Room, and a dance floor. Basically I said all this to say you can kiss your mahogany furniture, wall to wall carpet, and 20 year leases goodbye the days of going to a traditional office buildings are gone. In fact, with employers allowing more and more employees the opportunity to work from home, and the idea of only using office space for official business such as meetings, and interviews. I believe this trend of co-work space could affect office sub-market. Co-work space (Axis Space) can offer a desk as low as 300 per month this will allows start-up companies a chance to network with other entrepreneurs. However, I do have one concern with this business model, what happens if everyone who has a membership come to work to claim their space on the same day. The noise level may turn the office into a High School cafeteria.  I am sure this will create an opportunity for Axis Space to expand their business into several locations, or a chance to franchisee the business.  In conclusion, I would like to be the first to nominate Axis Space as NSU MSRED new program location. There would be no better space for the MSRED program to move to than the future of office space. Nothing will say we are ahead of the curve than having our classes in a world class futuristic office space with other inquiring minds.
